I've got a windows 2003 server with dhcp dns and AD , with a RIS setup an a
other partition. I want to know how i can setup the ris installation trough
network without having to fill in the username and password at the beginning
en futher on the setup on my client to fill in the product key and all the
others.
The client computer start the ris trough the network without a cd or floppy
disk.
So everthing goed well except the fact that i have to fill in every step of
the ris during installation on the client. How can i get a fully unattended
ris trough a network without a floppy disk or cd?
Sorry for my poor english.

Best regards,
Dennis

Hi Denbian,

I don't think you can completely get rid of the Client Installation Wizard
at the beginning of RIS because it needs your username and password to create
the computer account in AD. But you can cut down the amount of screens
displayed.

http://www.mcpmag.com/columns/articl...itorialsID=847

You can also rename the startrom.n12 file to startrom.com to cut out the
extra "Press F12 to continue" stage. Have a look at
http://technet2.microsoft.com/Window...22ca81033.mspx

And if the install isn't fully automated then your answer file isn't
complete. Post your Sif file (removing company specific information) and I'll
take a look.
Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Mark
