Hello,
Been pulling my hair out for days. Can't figure this one.
I have a shiny new D-link router. Updated the firmware. 3 windows
machines (XP, 2000Pro, 98SE), which all come and go, can connect and
browse perfectly. Not so with my poor RH9 box.
If I connect it directly to the CABLE (not DSL) modem, life is great.
When I connect thru the router, I can't get to
www.google.com or
rhn.redhat.com, among others. However, I can get to 99% of the sites
out there. HTTP, FTP, telnet, SSH is all fine. I can ping IPs or
names. /etc/resolv.conf has my ISP DNS in it, and route gives me a
default gateway of 192.168.0.1. iptables -L give nothing.
In ethereal, now I don't know much about packets, but I get SYNs from
google, but no ACKs like other places. It definitely finds google and
gets a response, though. Now, I can ping google, but not telnet to
port 80 and try a manual GET. I can do that from the XP machine, and
I get index.html in return. Tried a million MTU combinations.
Tried lynx and mozilla alike with no success. I use rogers hispeed
(@home.com). Even tried the "secret" 192.168.0.1/sysp.htm page to
fiddle with MTUs. Nothing.
ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated!
