Hi,
you need to start the POP3 server Service before it will work.
Make sure he is not pulling all the mails down and removing them from
exchange though else nothing will be in his inbox when he gets back to his
desk!
However, you would be better to look at RPC over HTTPS as a solution to this
or Outlook mobile access to achieve this.
