Restoring system state

The KB doesn't say much about best practices for restoring the system state
with NTbackup. In fact I can't find anything. I'm thinking mainly of two
questions. No urgent need for me, but it would be nice if everybody knew
in advance. Emergencies are not a good time to figure things out clearly.

1 - If you restore a full and a differential backup and both have the
system state, would you restore it twice (and if so reboot in the middle or
not), or skip it the first time and just restore it from the differential
backup since the system state is always backed up in copy mode?

2 - Always replace file or replace only if older?

Are the answers the same for workstations and servers?

Reply in group, but if emailing add
2 more zeros and remove the obvious.
