Dear,

How can I restart remotely a machine that do not belong to the domain.
I want to restart a stand-alone machine that do not belong to my domain
remotely.
I tried the shutdown command but it says access denied.

It seems i need to have adminstrative priviliges on the client machine,

how can i do that ?

Best,

Try performing a net use to the IPC$ of the machine with the admin creds
before executing the command.

Hi,

It worked, but can you explain to me about IPC$
when it can't be used?

Thanks,

The Remote IPC share is used for IPC communication between two machines. By
performing a net use to that share, you have administrative priveleges to
execute certain commands on that machine

Hi,

Thanks for the useful info...
I still have a problem, if I want to disable the Firewall on a stand
aone machine remotely, how can i do that ?
Group policy only applies if the machine belongs to a domain.
But in my case the machine does not belong to the domain and I want to
be able to disable the firewall remotely...

Is this possible?
