Sure, but it may not solve the problem.
The machines should be able to ping each other even if the router is removed
and thrown out in the street. The Switch is where they all meet,...the
Switch could be bad,...the cables could be the wrong type,...the machine's
network config could be wrong.
Of course if they use automatic addressing,...and they get the addresses
from the "router",...then yes, the router might be the problem and resetting
it may get it going again.
