Resetting profile

My Parents-in-law are currently on a max service via one.tel which synchs at
2mbps. Although their exchange is non LLU it appears that as they have Max,
and the exchange is only 3-400 m away, that they could definitely improve
their speed.

I have long suspected that their extension wiring is dodgy to say the least,
so I think they should go for a faceplate splitter and put the router on the
master socket.

However will the line profile adjust automatically, or is there something
they or one.tel will need to do to make that happen.

Looks like they should be expecting around 6mbps according to samknows

My experience is that if you synch and stay synched without a disconnect
for three days,your BRAS will reset automatically,.

However if the line is that poor it may be that the DSLAM noise margin
is set high as well.

If you can sort it out, you should end up with a stable line and noise
marign 6-9dB or so, If its higher, you need to get that reset manually.

Just fitting a faceplate is not going to solve the underlying problem. It
will allow you to isolate the dodgy wiring to prove that that is the problem
but you will then need to work through the various parts until you find what
is causing the problem.

PS The profile will reset itself. but it may take a day or two to do so.
