What follows is a rant that has no real point and no evidence to
backup anything I list on the pixel paper below.

1) I hate that Linux is becoming more and more user friendly.

Windows=Linux

In my mind Linux is becoming an open source clone of Windows.
And because of that Linux is attracting an army of Windows E-tards.

If Linux never increased in popularity after today, I wouldn't mind.
Why do I care that other people like and use Linux? I don't.

2) I hate lazy Linux users.

Linux users are becoming lazy, just like Window users.

Watching (trolling) around alt.linux I've noticed the increase of
idiots asking questions to simple problems.

Now, I'm not going to judge the difficulty of a problem but when the
questions being asked are to problems that have the most documentation
out there, you start to wonder.

3) I hate people that take Linux too seriously.

My last troll post, "Screw Linux, I'm going back to Windows!" was an
obvious joke (like this post) yet all the self-righteous Linux
assholes ("gurus") loved taking the time to tell me I suck...which I
sort of respected since I'm an asshole myself but really....why so
serious?
I hate these people. I wished they would die. They do Linux harm.

4) I hate people that say Linux is better than Windows.

Windows is just as good as Linux.

I use both and can safely say that there isn't anything that Linux can
do that Windows can't. And to give me that bullshit that Windows cost
too much money....come on, who pays for anything that runs on Windows?
http://astalavista.box.sk
Who didn't own a "backup" copy of Windows 95/98?

5) I hate people that say Linux is free.

I hear that all the time. Find me one person that hasn't spent a
dollar on Linux and I will never post again (don't follow-up and tell
me you haven't because I'm lying).

From books to plush penguins, Linux is a moneymaker just like Windows
but not to the extent, yet.

And what major Linux web site doesn't have ads on it? Oh, oh. I'm
sorry those ad revenues are to cover the cost of running the site
only. *wink *wink

6) I hate Linux being called a 'hackers operating system'.

What the fuck does that mean?!
Come on, let's all be honest here. Who has really taken the source
code to anything Linux and changed it to meet their real needs?
I know a few people have but the average user....no.
So stop calling it that you sound stupid.

--Snip--
No Andrew, you are stupid!!! ha ha, har har. Blah.

7) I hate Linus Torvlads.

There I said it, I don't really mean it but I wanted to see it in
print for once. I really do like Linus but why the media makes him
into a saint, I will never know. Read his book, "Just for Fun" it's
peppered with sexual innuendos. Saint my ass.

8) I hate United Linux.

Being a standard sucks.

Whoever came up with this idea (www.unitedlinux.com) should be forced
to listen to this:
http://hallaudiobooks.com/audio_cds/257.shtml

9) And what I really hate.

When the last ice cube in a drinking glass sticks to the bottom.

I loved it, it had me laughing, but as you can see there is another
response to this post that was done by an idiot with no humour, well
none that anyone else would recognise anyway.

You know what I hate, people that say "I want to find a partner that has
a sense of humour and makes me laugh".

What else are they going to say? "I want to find someone that is as
serious as a heart attack and has me crying every waking moment"

While I did find your "screw linux" amusing, I am going to take it seriously
(so sue me)(wait a few years untill I have money and you may have grounds).
It is full of valuable (however exagerated) information. After years of
trying to find TFM for whatever wierd thing I am trying to do , I agree with
some of the sentiment.

: 1) I hate that Linux is becoming more and more user friendly.

: Windows=Linux
j) I hate that people think that windows is user-friendly. The behaviors
conditioned by microsofts "unholy" ease-of use promote the spread of
malicous code. In MNSHO microsoft took the worst of *ix and MacOS, making
windows.

: 3) I hate people that take Linux too seriously.
: sort of respected since I'm an asshole myself but really....why so
: serious?
I have to confess to asshole behaviour on occasion.

Propriatary software begets proprietary software.
Propriatary software begets propriatary file fomats
Propriatary software destroys the free exchange of information.

: 5) I hate people that say Linux is free.
The GNU manifesto explains that "Free" refers to FREEDOM. If you use
propriatary software, with a propriatary format, you are counting one the
company buisness plan to allow you to access your information indefinitely.

http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/free-sw.html

: I hear that all the time. Find me one person that hasn't spent a
: dollar on Linux and I will never post again (don't follow-up and tell
: me you haven't because I'm lying).
My grandma has not spent 1 dollar on linux. (or microsof)
This may be hard to avoid in the future because of computers embeded in
apliances.

: 6) I hate Linux being called a 'hackers operating system'.

: What the fuck does that mean?!
This comes back to companies chaning their buisness plan, leaving customers
unsupported. With open source software, users can hire a programmer if they
absolutely have to. With propriatary software, the programmer would have to
start from scratch: reinventing the wheel to add new functionallity

: 8) I hate United Linux.

: Being a standard sucks.
While I agree that hemogeny is dangerous, standards are important for the
free and easy exchange of information.

: 9) And what I really hate.

This "digital" Fad. Digital movies, cameras, music, etc is being used in
exactly the same way as their analogue counterparts. The power of digital
formats are many: lossless copying, interpolation, lower unit cost, etc.
The problem is people with money are trying to force digital technology to
follow the satus-quo. There is no technical reason why DVDs cannot be used
globaly. The industry has taken significant steps to make DVDs emulate their
analogue conterparts: at the detrement of everyone else.

For cameras: the movement to digital make abolish microfilm. When we finally
nuke ourselves, archiologists may find our remanants. They cannot learn from
our mistakes if the cannot read about them. To read microfilm (or film) all
that is needed is a candel and a magnifying glass. To read a CD-rom (same
data density) or media card, they have to reverse-engineer our computers and
software.

Add me to the list. Got a comprehensive Linux collection with free
shipping from Novel. Right down here:

This comprehensive Novell Linux collection includes the following on 3
DVDs (10 GB):

- SUSE Linux Professional 9.1 (Bootable Installation DVD)

- SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 8 (ISO Installation Images)

- SUSE Linux Professional 8.2 (Installation ISO images for use with
Ximiam Desktop)

- Ximian Desktop 2.0 Evaluation (ISO Image)

- Red Carpet 2.0.2 Evaluation (ISO Image)

- GroupWise for Linux 6.5.1 - Server, Client & Messenger (ISO Images)

- Novell Nterprise Linux Services 1.0 (ISO Image & NLS Companion CD)

- And more...

Those who complain without refering or checking out credible sources are
the most hated people, IMHO.

I'd hardly call it a "comprehensive" Linux collection. With the exception
of Suse 9.1, it's all outdated junk. Why do you think it's being given
away...?

I think you both missed the point, you may not have spent a dollar on
getting hold of a Linux distro but can you honestly say that you have
not purchased a single item related to Linux? A magazine, a ticket to a
Linux Expo, a LUG membership etc etc.
