Replacing modem

I have a MN-500 and works pretty well. It has the latest
firmware update.
Now I am replacing Alcatel HomeSpeed by Westel, the modem
that BellSouth currently supports.
I read MN-500 documentation, searched broaband Workgroup
and found no information about a procedure to intall the
new modem.
Should I just go ahead plug the cables, and turn the
modem on?
Thanks
Ricardo
