I wasn't exactly sure what newsgroup to post this in. Hopefully, this one
will be ok. Let me know if not.
I attempted to replace a Windows NT server with a Windows 2000 server with
the same name and IP. Both, name and IP must be the same. The box is used as
a front end IIS for a UNIX database. The transition, for the most part ,went
well but the new box isn't talking to the UNIX 100%.
I'm assuming I missed a step somewhere along the line. Is it possible to
manually remove any/all instances that my be pointing back to the old box in
a table, AD, DNS, WINS, HOSTS, LMHOSTS file? ..I'm reaching here...
Our DC and BDC are running 2000 server.
Just a reminder, the new and old names of the box must be the same.
You may need more info from me, just let me know what it is and I'll reply
to the group.
Thank you
Cheryl
