Hi,
Does your switch support 1GB connections? Do you have cable that support 1GB
connection?
You could try and set the new network card in the server to 100MB and see if
it works (that problems are not only on 1GB connection).
Still, problems like this are usually associated with drivers. Did you get
any errors in application or system log on the server?
