repeaters for linksys g?

I tried repeating a Linksys WAP54G with Buffalo's G bridging/repeating
products, and it would work for a little while but when I roamed between APs

I had a situation where similar where there was a Linksys bridge
connecting to a wireless router across the customer yard in their
garage. The bridge was wired directly into a Linksys AP in another
room in the house. (acting like a repeater.

The problem was: the bridge would recieve a better signal off the AP
in the other room than the router accross the yard. Our solution was
to make similar SSID names BUT techincally they were different SSIDs.
The bridge was then set up to connect to one particular SSID.

Similar story: Before I was employeed to the WISP I worked for the
guys set most of their bridges (EC2s) to "any" SSID and then point the
bridges to the tower and leave it. Well, this became a problem cause
Joe Shmoe neighbor would set up a SOHO wireless router and the bridge
would connect to their SSID instead of the correct SSID.
