When i choose this task in windows it says that it cannot disable the
network adapter? Does anyone know what would be stopping xp from disabling
a belkin f5d7000 wireless card?

Regards.

The only thing I can think of right now is to ensure you have administrative
rights to the computer. Usually, when it repairs, it releases and renews the
IP address assigned to the network adapter, so perhaps you can try doing this
manually by going to the command prompt and typing "ipconfig /release" press
Enter and then "ipconfig /renew" press enter...without the quotes.

Mary,

I did this but the renew command timed out and it said unable to connect to
your dhcp server - despite the fact the belkin utility said there was a
18mbps link between the two. Although the windows wireless connection icon
said it was not connected.

Regards.
