I had to replace a couple nics in one of our server and when I went to
configure the new nics, Windows complained that another hidden nic
already was assigned the ip address. Is there a way I can remove the
nics from the server even though they don't physically exist?

Thanks,

Tim

Yep - you will have to remove the phantoms from the registry. As always,
this requires skill, caution, and a lucky rabbit's foot ...make a backup /
export first.

HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Network.... and poke around in there.
