Hi Guys,
I have a client that has purchased a new SBS 2k3 server.
He wants the old 2k server (which is Not SBS) to become a member server on the new SBS domain.
Different domain name.
How do I go about that?
(Workstations will just be manually added to the new domain).
TIA,
Jeff Davies

Hi Jeff,

First you will have to demote the server to a member server. Note: if you do
this -- this server will _not_ be a domain controller any more and clients
won't be able to use it to authenticate! To go on, run dcpromo on your
domain controller and follow the wizard. If the process is successful server
will become a member server. Now you will be able to join it to new domain
(if necessary edit TCP/IP properties -- specially DNS settings to point to
new Active Directory DNS server).

I hope this helps,
