A couple of problems ....

I just cannot seem to access my router remotely. I have a Linksys WRT54G
router and have remote accesss enabled on 8080. I have been to ip:8080 but
it just wont let me log in.

Do I just goto myip:8080 and it should log in or is there more?

I have also setup a VNC server on my mac mini which is on the network. In
the apps and games section, I have set it up to open the required port for
the mac mini IP but it wont let me connect. It could be to do with where I
am trying to access it from, which is mainly when Im on nights at my
hospital, and want to access my mac

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks

It might be https://ip:8080

You also have to have enabled remote admin in the routers control panel
(it is off by default).

Have you forwarded the correct ports on your router to the minimacs LAN
IP?

As far as I know, the VNC server uses port 5900. I have open this for the
VNC's IP number. Is this what you mean?

Opening and forwarding are not quite the same. Forwarding means to
redirect packets destined for wan ip:5900 to lan ip:5900, thus a VNC
"packet" coming into your router on port 5900 would get sent to lan
ip:5900.

Opening a port is more for outgoing connections I think.
