We have a single domain environment. If I pull up "My Network Places" and
look at the Windows Network, I see two objects. One of these is our domain,
the other is called 'Remote'. I have never noticed this before and I am
curious if it is something that Windows 2003 might have brought into the
picture? We haven't had any outside machines brought in as far as I know, so
I thoguht I would investigate this possiblity first.

Thanks.

Hi Harkin,
Nope... Windows 2003 will not create REMOTE group. Could you tell us
what the ICON looks like and what happens if you try to open it.

Thanks!

Alan,

I get the "Remote is not accessible. You might not have permission to use
this network resource. Contact the administrator...." error message.

The icon is the same as our domain, the 3 computers arranged in a triangle.
The properties dialog list it as Type : Microsoft Windows Network.

Perhaps there was a machine that was brought into the network without my
knowledge and has since been removed, but the workgroup just didn't go away?

Thanks
