remote IP of WRT54G

I need some way of getting the external IP of my Linksys WRT54G so I can
track when it changes (DHCP).

I was playing with 'telnet 192.168.1.1 80' to see if I could do it by
accessing the webserver but now 'connection refused'. I think the
internal webserver crashed because I can't access the admin page with a
browser on another computer.

What OS are you running? The link will do nicely for automation if all you
need is to tell some program your IP. In Windows, WSH and MSXML can handle
that page just fine. I suspect in Linux a Perl script to parce the page
would take very little time to produce. Just a matter of how handy are
you at generating code.

You can try http://www.dyndns.org/ this may do what you are looking for.
