Hi all,

I have an apparently common problem (looking at the related posts I
found) with my VPN remote clients.
When my remote client connect to the SBS server, using remote access
manager, the default gateway of the client computer is changed pointing
to my SBS server. However I want to keep the default gateway as it was
so that surfing and POP3 mailing still goes directly to the clients
ISP.

How can I control this?
I found some comments that suggest to chanhe the TCP/IP config of the
VPN connection but this is not possible since the remote access manager
doesn't show me theses settings.
An other post suggested to alter the remote.cms file on the SBS server,
but this one I can't find on my server.

Any suggestions are more than welcome.

Yves

I did found the remote.cms file and modified the Gateway_On_Remote
flags.
This indeed solves the gateway problem: the default gateway is still
the local one after conneting the VPN. However, My outlook exchange
account hangs when doing a send/receive.

I can do a remote access over VPN without problems
(https://mysbserver/Remote). So why can explorer find my server over
the VPN tunnel but the exchange account not?

any help is welcome.

Yves

It is not a "problem". It is by design,..on purpose. It is supposed to be
that way to protect the LAN being connected to so that the remote user
doesn't become a "conduit" between the Internet and the LAN.

It is controlled on the Client,...not SBS. In the Dialup Connection setting
find the item that says, "User Gateway on Remote Network" and uncheck it.
