Had an issue last week where I could not get into a clients server the usual
Remote Desktop Way. On the server went to Terminal Server Managment and found
there was a question mark next to the server.
Traced it down to what I believe was/is a binding issue between TS and the
NIC on the server. Everytime I go to properties under RDP-TCP configfuration
and click on network card it locks up and I have to force quit the utility
What I did to resolve it last week was I upgraded the Intel Driver from 7.0
to 8.4 via Dell's site. Rebooted
Then removed and recreated the RDP-tcp connection.
This resolved my issue.
It happened again yesterday and changing the driver did not resolve it.
Internal lan works fine otherwise I would think a corrupt TCP stack.
Even installed different network card, still to RDP connectivity
I suspect something is corrupt but dont want to compromise internal Lan
operations because there is no issue there but need to reestablish TS to work
with (a) lan card
I'm thinking of installing Server 2003 SP2 as a possible fix but concerned
that it may stop during install if it runs into a corrupt file
Any suggestions would be appreciated
thx - Mike
