remote access to network w/ TCP/IP device connected

I have a controller measuring a level instrument tied
into my MN-500 and can access from my wireless laptop on
the home network. I would like to be able to access it
from anywhere by accessing its TCP/IP address. But I do
not know how to allow this either with passwords or
access rights. Can anyone help me?

Perhaps forward to whatever IP it uses and a certain port would work, Randy.
But I would suggest contacting the item manufacturer for correct directions.
