I have a dreambox DM-500s, which is basically a satellite box, which
is connected to my home network. It allows me to watch TV on my pc.

To watch TV on my pc I have to access the IP address assigned to the
dreambox (which is 192.168.1.25)

Is there a way to remotely access this IP address so I can watch TV
from my dreambox wherever I am

BTW, I ain't to good with networking so can you keep the language as
simple as possible

Here is some info on dreambox:

Yes , you would need to set up a rule on your router to forward traffic from
the internet on whatever TCP or UDP ports the dreambox uses onto your
dreambox.

Exactly how to do this would depend on your router , and you'd also need to
find out what ports are actually needed

and then will that enable me to access the IP address of the dreambox
from anywhere in the world?

Yep.

You will have a public IP address that is provided by your isp , not
192.168.x.x , which you can access from anywhere on the net.
You would also find this out from your router

This address can change , but in practice doesn't do so very often

Yes, there is, but if you intend to stream the original DVB broadcasts
"as is" over the Internet, bandwidth will become an issue.

If you want this to work at all, you will need to transcode the video
and audio to some less demanding format.

The DM 500 does not have enough "oomph" for that, but this can be
accomplished by using a sufficiently powerful PC and, say, VLC. It's a
bit complicated, though. You would need to leave your PC running and set
up some method for remote logins - VNC, perhaps, or an SSH server. See
here for more information:

Figure out which port it uses, then on your router configuration forward
incoming requests from your WAN IP address:dreambox port number (eg
81.174.245.87:8080) to 192.168.1.25:same port number on your LAN.

You will need a fairy decent upload speed to make this worthwhile, and a
static IP from your ISP would be nice.
