Reliable adsl router

We use cisco 837 adsl routers for most of our remote sites which are
very effective and reliable but for very small sites of a couple of
users are looking not to use the cisco due to cost and need to have them
configured by an outside agency (due to contract terms)

So were looking for a reliable basic adsl router which allow a few vpn
ipsec tunnels to pass through, dont need to be end point vpn's.

Any recommendations ... some of the linksys ones tried so far have
proven quite unreliable.

It maybe that the hidden cost in supporting non cisco devices outweighs
the initial cost/support of the cisco kit but its worth trying some to
check this out.

Draytek Vigor 2800 range is your best bet.

the 2600G is cheaper - why should I not go for that instead of the
2800G?

Just in case, I have a 2600+ which I'd like to sell. It's in pristine
conditions and was used for several months without any problems on a
marginal line, providing rock solid connection.

As it is languishing on a shelf, I'm open to offers at

usenet at lorenz dot clara dot co dot uk

Please - just flog it on Ebay - seen you mention it a few times now
and clearly there are either no offers, or any that are made are
too low. If you do put it on with some reserve, at least be
good enough to put a starting price of 80% of that reserve
(I've seen items with reserves of 75+ pounds put on with the
starting price of a fiver or less, and clearly they get lots of
bids in the tens and twenties without any hope of buying items -
a waste of time for all bidders and the seller, in my view, and
silly because starting at a sensible level means only those ready
to pay a reasonable sum will bother looking). Also, if you're
going to flog it, at least but in the subject line FA: or FS:
so those who filter out ads can ignore same. Thanks.

Apart from anything else the 2600G is not available anymore.

I was looking on ebay - where the 2600G is not much cheaper than the
2800G

So people are stupid enough to ask/pay too much. What does that prove?

I assumed that a commercial organisation would probably buy new anyway. The
factor is that the 2800 range has significant extra facilities over the 260
range.

That some people are sensible enough to ask in here.

Thanks Peter.

Where did you get the idea that I was a commercial organisation?
