Greetings

I'm about to start the process of wiping one of my computers clean and
reinstalling XP from scratch. It has a wireless adapter card fitted, and I
recall that when I installed it, I had to install the software first and
then the card second.

Does that mean I should remove the card and start all over again, or does it
not really make any difference?

Thanks

If you leave the card in it will probably just fail to find the
drivers and show up as an unknown device when you first reboot - all
you probably need to do is update the drivers and reboot to get it
recognised.

Some devices can get all pissy if windows installs what it thinks are the
right drivers, but arent. The current range of usb adsl voyager modems are
a case in point, screwing up the entire installation..........
Best thing when installing fresh, have as little connected to the pc as
possible, when it is installed go through the process of adding all yout
peripherals etc.
