Reg Edits to Stop IPX from Chatting on a TCPIP Network

We have recently shutdown our last Netware server and
have yet to get around to all the workstations to remove
the clients. Since shutting down the server the network
is much slower. I am guessing it is because the Netware
clients are still continually trying to talk to the
disconnected server, resulting in multiple rebroadcasts.

Question:

If I change the default protocol to TCPIP via a registry
script, will the IPX chatting stop? Or, if I deselect
IPX under the bindings tap of the NIC, will that help? If
so, do you know where the registry key(s) is that I need
to change?

I'm just looking for a quick way to stop IPX from
chatting without having to run around the office tonight.
We will eventually uninstall the clients but I would like
to do it over a period of time.

netware 3.x or 4.x, did not support tcp/ip, for if you
disable ipx, you will not be able to talk to your netware
server. However, tcp/ip is supported in netware 5.x and
above, so...
