Reformat partition

I currently have a Windows 2003 Storage Server setup as C: and D: (C being
OS, D is data) partitions. I have our student home directories in sub folders
based on graduation year. I would like to reformat this partition for the
upcoming school year. If I recreate the graduation year folders with the same
permissions after reformat, will the home directories be recreated at login?
Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.
