Ref. spam filtering - what system do Google use..?

The recent topic on spam filtering suggested passing mail through a
Googlemail account to help remove spam. I've been doing this for a while
and it's very effective but I was wondering what system they use, anyone
any ideas..?

Relying on Google to manage spam is like putting Microsoft in charge of PC
security, and Gary Glitter in charge of childcare.

That's not what I asked. Your opinion of Google doesn't interest me in the
slightest. I asked what system they use. If you can't or won't answer the
question asked then please don't reply at all.

FYI I've not had a single spam message make it to my normal inbox since I
started using it.

Disagree strongly. At the moment it is as good as anything out there.
They may have ulterior motives with regards to advertisers in the long
run but as yet they haven't been caught with their pants down. Unlike
your examples! )

Nor me in the ten days since I started using it. Over 760 spams caught,
and just one false positive - from the SANS Institute ironically.

My post was humour - based on seemingly most of the spam to Usenet
originating from Google accounts.

Not really an answer to your question but i have been using spamcop.net for
several years now and they are extremely effective. £15 a year well
spent.....

It takes you to a Google Search for "sense of humour" .I presume you
know what one of them is .Go on .have a look :-)
