Guys and Girls,

I need some help .. I was reading the Linux NIS How-To and I noticed
that Linux uses the same notation as other *NIXes to stop only who you
want to NIS login into your box ..

i.e. +:*::::::/etc/NoShell in /etc/passwd

However, when I try this on a Redhat Enterprise Box it still lets me
login.

Can anyone help ..?

The redhat website says to use /etc/security/access.conf instead, but
I was wondering if we can get the +:*::::::/etc/NoShell to work.

Thanks

Ive.

I think it'should be working in compat mode only

modify passwd line in /etc/nsswitch.conf

passwd: files compat
