Recovery from incorrect firmware update????

We have linksys BEFVP41 v2 + WAP11 combo.

We went to update the firmware in the BEFVP41 and inadvertently
updated it with the version 1 firmware. Now, other than a rapidly
blinking power led, it is virtually DEAD!!!

We've tried resetting by holding the reset for 30+ seconds, doing the
same with a power cycle, with NO improvement.

Any suggestions as to what we might be able to do to get this device
back to a point where we can connect to it and load the correct
firmware?

I don't know anything about the BEFVP41 (or many other routers!), but is
the modem a separate unit from this router? If so, connect the PC
directly to the modem until you can download and install the correct
firmware.
