Hi Tim,
http://www.uk-bug.net is the short answer .. but please remember, the
site has only been semi-live for less than a week .. so information is
relatively scarce at the moment.
The sales pitch.....
Ahh ... free requested publicity .. this is what I like

)
UK-Bug was recently set up to [try] and plug a gap in the current
websites that are available. Despite the excellent resources
available to many of the sites around these days, they either (or
both) provide 'news' and 'a forum'. So thats' it for a website then
eh? Wrong.
What UK-Bug is doing is whilst providing the obligatory news and forum
(and a usenet sync of all 'covered' ISPs - note .. BTOpenworld &
Nildram currently catered for, but Pipex, PlusNet & Zen soon to be
added within a week hopefully) we also will be building a true
usergroup in every sense of the word.
We have some very deep contacts within a couple of the various ISPs
(some with management approval - some without). Together with
appointing a ISP Respesentative, UK-Bug hopes to bring a common place
for all ISPs subscribers to colaborate, meet, and bounce ideas of.
Recent actions by one [nameless] ISP brought to light actions by ISPs
to the detriment of its users. Despite internal newsgroups, emailing
support, there appears to be no appriciation of the impact of some
changes by an ISP to its core customers. Appointment of an
individual, ackowledged by the ISP, is the first step towards building
a univeral usergroup.
2 ISPs have already reviewed the proposal, and one of them has
definatley said yes (the other said we'll wait to see what other ISPs
say first). Hopefully, as word gets around, more ISPs will warm to
the idea - realising that consultation groups are not simply there to
complain about an ISP but to assist in an ISPs realisation of
providing core services that an ISPs customer wants (and in todays
society of VPN working from home - needs !)
Appeal.

If anyone would like to put themselves forward for such a post (ISP
Representative), we would welcome this. There are but a few
requirements.
You *must* be using that ISP (can't be hypocritical now can we)
You should be prepared to see both sides of any discussion (ie the
ISPs POV and the users POV).
Thats pretty much it. As I said previously, we have resources
available to cover BTOpenworld, Zen & Nildram - possibly Pipex &
PlusNet, but applications are welcome non-the-less.
Cheers ( wow .. I just realised how much I typed - goes to show how
much you can type when your enthusiastic about something eh?)
