Can anyone recommend a decent wireless ADSL modem/router/firewall and
wireless desktop PC adapter please? ... and where I might obtain them, as
cheap as possible please!

To be used for home networking to allow sharing of adsl broadband
connection.

Cheers :-)

Look at the Linksys range. The Linksys Wireless modem/firewall/gateway/router has a
built in 4 way switch, and although I've not used the wireless PC card, I'm using the
wireless laptop adapter card, and it works beautifully.

Thanks! I have, however, been told that Netgear are probably one of the
better ones to buy, so I'm still confused!

I suppose all those at the £100 range will be very similar in performance?

I don't know for sure. I had a Zoom one for example, and it was dire. Maybe I was
unlucky with that particular one, but I am impressed with Linksys. 24/7 telephone
support on a non premium number if you have problems too.

They are owned by CISCO who are as far as I know the top company for high spec
routers.

I have a Linksys WAG54G (ADSL modem/switch/802.11g AP) which is fine,
very very stable, and i've only one problem with it.
It won't cope properly with global IP addresses on the LAN, which I
have. Will shortly be getting a solwise router, (and thus selling the
Linksys)
Solwise are also very good ADSL routers, not many wireless models tho,
and not very user-friendly, but very effective at what they do.
