I am looking to upgrade a wired network of 5 computers to a switched hub
incorporating an ADSL modem

Can anyone give me a recommendation as to who can supply an 8 port switched
hub which incorporates an ADSL modem. Someone told me that Linksys does one
but I cannot find any details.

Any advice gratefully received.

Tom

Linksys apparently does not have a DSL modem with integrated multi-port
router/switch. D-Link also has nothing to offer in this space.

Netgear has a DSL modem with integrated router/switch - but only 4 ports, not
8. See http://www.netgear.com/products/details/DG834.php?view=

Netgear also makes a DSL modem with integrated Wireless-G wap, and
router/switch - but again, only 4 ports, not 8.
See http://www.netgear.com/products/prod...odID=223&view=

Unless one of the lesser lights has what you're looking for, you are going to
have to cobble something together from chunks.

One option is to get a stand-alone DSL modem and attach an 8-port
router/switch to it. Linksys has the router - see
http://www.linksys.com/products/prod...id=29&prid=604

Alternatively, you could buy one of the four-port Netgear modem/router combo
units listed above and then uplink your existing switch or hub to it to gain
the number of ports you seek...
