Please could anyone recommend a company that will provide registration
and hosting for a small website for a new small business. It should include:
- domain registration (.co.uk)
- website hosting
- e-mail address forwarding
- some access to cgi or forms (or equivalent): simple stuff e.g. contact
forms
- ftp access not restricted to providers own connection (e.g. Pusnet
restrict ftp access on some of their accounts only across their connection).

I'm currently using P(l)usnet for a couple of sites and am looking for
alternatives. I've seen http://www.gradwell.com/ and
http://www.1and1.co.uk/ get recommendations in alt.internet.providers.uk

TIA

Hostroute web hosting is well worth a look , For the most part its got a
good rep and has been in business for years .

Although usually its a good idea to register the domain with somewhere
like 123reg and just change the nameservers when/if you ever change web
hosting companys .

I've never had problems with fasthosts.co.uk.

Recently wanted to change domain from webforwarding to a hosting account
which had become free as a domain & site that I used to look after now
managed by someone else, dropped them an e-mail one evening and they called
me back at 8.40pm to talk me through it. Have proper 24 hour support.

Stephen

I'd say Hostroute/Nameroute depending on your requirements, or
alternatively, Liquidsix.

Dont fall for it. Tx2 arsehole is gordon hudson in disguise advertising
himself. A proven pedophile and a known drug dealer. Runs a hosting
company as cover to his drug business from his cancel flat. Just search
the old posts within this NG.

And here's another vote for Hostroute - I have been totally happy with them,
and more than satisfied with their customer service.

Henry.

Look at old posts for 'arthur_mansini' and you'll see that the person
currently calling themself 'Denesh Bhabuta' has sexual fixations at the
schoolboy level. I wonder if his mum knows the mess he is making of the
keyboard and his pants...

Listen to Tx2.
