As Fred has mentioned, there is an "open source" solution called
NDISwrapper, whereby your GNU/Linux box can load your windoz XP version
of the NDIS driver, and use it under Linux. You'll probably have to
compile the "wrapper" to use it.
Also available is another solution, called Driverloader. It too enables
your linux box to load the windoz XP NDIS driver.

It supports your Atheros chipset, and is available as "source",
"tarball" and RPM for selected distro/versions. There is a thirty day
free trial license, and the permanent license costs twenty bucks or so.
