I am looking to change from my current isp AOL in a couple of months time as
my contract is up. I need 1or2Mb connection (I haven't decided yet). I need
a good newsgroup server with access to binaries, I need to be able to send
email from my own address using their smtp server, the service needs to be
uncapped, reliable and customer support needs to be a local/national call. I
am willing to pay up to £40/month.
Any ideas?

We could help you there. 1MB from us is £40.00 per month and we have 0845
tech support available as well.

No caps, limits or port restrictions and the SMTP facility is there too.

As shown in the top 3 ISPs in Micromart and we have favourable reviews on
Net4Nowt.com as well.

Doesn't that still come with a transfer cap?

Sure does. Not until the new year though. But it's still an
unreasonable cap - 30gig a month, on 1mbit ffs!

Oh well since it's a blatant advert I'll just pop in & just say that Plusnet
do a 1meg unlimited package at £29.99 per month, think I know which one I'd
go with even with a set up fee......

Well there's cheaper still at V21 - £26.99 for 1MB.

But don't think I'd want to go with them somehow

Might I mention that v21 like "borrowing" other's intellectual property?

I'd imagine their service must be really good (not) if they feel the
need to thieve other ISP's web content, just because their too cheap to
make their own.
