I cannot go more then 20 feet from base station??

Are ther other settings that an help?

Check that router and wireless card are on the same
channel. Otherwise try setting them to channel 1 or 11.

Finally, you want to set the router vertical and away from
walls. Wifi is like old time radios, you may need to tweak
the position to get better reception.
