I own a Motorola SURFboard cable-modem, and I recently
learned that more goes on inside it that I earlier suspected!
(Mine is about 2-years old.)
For example, my Motola responds to:
http://192.168.100.1/
and I can display alot of info and there is a reset-button.
But, I do NOT see that there is much of anything that I can
really CHANGE as far as any user-configurable parameters.
My questions are:
Do any of the (newer) Motorola cable-modems
(or cable-modems from other vendors) have any parameter
values that can be set?
Do any cable-modems have user-support for being able to UPGRADE the
firmware that (presumably) exists inside them? (Wired and wireless
routers all seem to be user-upgradable by downloading newer firmware
from the manufacturer, so I now wonder whether cable-modems might.)
TIA...
