I am looking to sign up with Zen Broadband but am not sure which adsl router
to buy.

I have a norton internet security package which should be ok for a firewall
& anti-virus ?

Or do i need a router with a firewall ?

A router will typically use NAT which will act as a basic (but very damn
effective) firewall.

The way it works is the router will remember what traffic was outbound
from your "internal" network, and will happily pass through any inbound
traffic it was expecting to see back - but any "unknown" traffic - port
scans etc. are dropped / ignored by the router (unless you tell it
otherwise)

A firewall on the computer itself is still a good thing to have,
especially if it tells you what traffic is trying to get "out".
