Reccomendations for ISP

I am returning to the UK soon and will need to install telephone line
and business grade broadband with a static IP address.
I would prefer to bundle the line and broadband.

I have read good reports about Be and Zen here. Be seem sightly
preferable as they offer a static IP with their "pro" offering.

Any thoughts? Any others I should consider? BT business broadband?

Thanks - Adam

So do I.
However, be warned that over the past year or two Plusnet have been
steadily reducing the content of their tariff packages. New customers
don't get any webspace, for instance.
Throttling - rate-limiting - is applied to all tariffs now, except for
the Pro package, which I'm on - solely for that reason, although it's
quite expensive and I don't use anywhere near the inclusive monthly
bandwidth allocation.
On the plus side, their customer service centre is based in Sheffield,
not Bangalore!

Sadly I will be in rural Cornwall, no cable for me :-(
I will try AAISP and see what they say.

Many thanks all.

Meanwhile, at the uk.telecom.broadband Job Justification Hearings, Woody
chose the tried and tested strategy of:

Apart from the lack of static IP, yes.

Personally I have never seen much need for a static IP. My router registers
with dyndns.com when the IP changes (rarely!) and I can always find
it! This is with the (excellent!) BeThere.

We use Be in a number of locations, and have been very satisfied with
the service; hey will provide multiple static addresses on request for
no additional charge on on the business tarriffs.

You will need to check what LLU is available on your local telephone
exchange - http://www.samknows.com

I absolutely need it. I have remote access to several sites that are not
static IP and the only way I can allow myself firewalled access and not
the whole world, is by being in one place all the time :-)

It may belong to BT but it provides excellent service with a UK service
centre. You do have to be able to manage a Yorkshire accent :-)

That's an amazing invention but who would ever want to use one of them?
