From time to time, I find that my Netgear DG834 (v2) has stopped
working, and its log shows something like this:
Thu, 2007-01-11 18:33:22 - LCP down.
Thu, 2007-01-11 18:33:28 - Initialize LCP.
Thu, 2007-01-11 18:33:28 - LCP is allowed to come up.
Thu, 2007-01-11 18:34:28 - Initialize LCP.
Thu, 2007-01-11 18:34:28 - LCP is allowed to come up.
Thu, 2007-01-11 18:35:28 - Initialize LCP.
Thu, 2007-01-11 18:35:28 - LCP is allowed to come up.
Thu, 2007-01-11 18:36:28 - Initialize LCP.
Thu, 2007-01-11 18:36:28 - LCP is allowed to come up.
Thu, 2007-01-11 18:37:28 - Initialize LCP.
.. . . sometimes for hours on end

If I simply reboot it, within a few seconds it is back working. Can
anyone advise why it is unable to get itself going again, as obviously
it is trying to do so?

Gordon

I'm experiencing identical issues, on a new Sky/Easynet LLU connection.
I had put it down to the "training period" Using a DG834GT with the Sky
firmware.

You could look and see if there's a firmware update available but I had
this problem frequently and eventually got so sick of rebooting that I
upgraded to a Draytek Vigor.

I've found testing the internet connection through the remote admin
functions will reset the router and restore connectivity. This is on
NTL though, YMMV.
