Try sub cable high speed service with a used Motorola modem, the ISP
ask for the MAC address of my modem and found nothing on the bottom of
it. So how can I read out the MAC address ?

if is a surfboard modem, your mac address should be on the modem or the box

The Motorola BitSurfer modems all have http interfaces.
http://www.192.168.100.1
should bring you to a main page.
The "Addresses" button tells you what you want to know.

The shortcut for my Motorola Bitsurfer SB4100 is
http://192.168.100.1/logs.html

A google search for "192.169.100.1 Motorola" shows only one entry, and that
looks like a typo, since 192.168.100.1 appears early in the same page.
