I'm at a complete loss here. MSFT TSS hasn't been able to help
either. We have had an ongoing, intermittent problem for over a year
now with files on network drives suddenly going read-only on us. It
seems to happen at hour intervals when it happens, and then it stops
for days.

I have ruled out an anti-virus or backup program. It has persisted
through SP0 through SP2 of both client and server OSes.

If anyone has any ideas of what might occur on an hourly basis to
check, I'd be much appreciative...

Thanks,
Pen

Hello,

any user using a backup or sync software ?
does this happens while the server network is unplugged ? (could you make
the test) ?

You may use process monitor to save all change to file system to uncover the
process that does it
