Apologies that this is slightly off topic, but I want to re-use my
colleague's BT Pay-as-you-go account that's expired from not being used.

Does anyone know how to reactivate an existing dial-up user id.? What's
happening at the moment is that BT allows us to connect but won't transmit
and traffic.

I want him to use it because he's having difficulties with his ADSL service
and as his system still has the user id., password and phone number set up,
I don't want to set him up with another PAYG account. He's a technical
dinosaur.

Martin,

Martin,

Try ringing BT billing on 0870 241 4567 and they should be able to help - if
its of any use, I once reactivated my daughters dial-up account for her
about 9 months after she closed it through them - you should have your
colleague present as BT will require certain information from him.

Conversely if you have access to the BT groups (or you know someone who
subscribes to BT) pop over to here: bt.broadband.support or
bt.narrowband.support and post your question there and you *should* get an
answer.

Thanks Brian

I wasn't aware of that group - I'll post it there.

Regards

You could try http://emergencyinternet.com/

All you need to do is connect on 0845 604 3090, no sign up or
username/password required.

Thanks Dave. At first I thought this wasn't any use to me, because the
end-user is so non-technical that he couldn't even enter a new user id. and
password for a dial-up, but I've just noticed that you can use *any* user
id. and password.

Great - thanks a lot!
