Note also that different ISPs have different ways of dealing with
"excess" bandwidth use. These may include:

a) temporary reduction of QoS when periodic limits exceeded / high
contention rates
b) change of tariff
c) per Gbyte excess fees
d) temporary withdrawal of service when periodic limits exceeded / no
access for e.g. remainder of month

or completely block ports for 6 hours or more, during peak periods.
