Move the router close to the doorway of the room it is in, or relocate
it to a common hallway between all rooms. Or failing that (and much
depends on your domestic reconfiguration and likeness for wires) fit an
external aerial to the network card.

The waves ping-pong off flat surfaces a bit like light, and wood is
OK'ish, but not really wall.
