I've left Windows behind, or Windows has left me behind, or something,
but I reckon if you run
echo %USERNAME%
in a console it will tell you who you are.

Well that's down to it being set up incorrectly, not Windows 7, if Vista
can't connect. I have WinXP, Vista and Mac OS X connecting to my Win7
desktop. Add a password to the account you use on Windows 7 and use the
same username and pass on the STB.
