If CompUSA won't sell them, someone on Ebay will, of that you can be

If so, and the output power of the Dlink product is less than 100mw,
yeah. If not, no.

Nothing that a pigtail can't sort out!

It is 17dBm so yes lower than 100mW.

Personally, I wouldn't bother though.

My son has his computer setup in an out building about 30 feet from our
main house, and the Dlink access point barely has the "oomph" to make
the connection. I'll try the homemade parabolic antenna booster first.
Is the Linksys ineffective?

The linksys WAP11 and Dlink 900+ are the same basic hardware.

I just wonder how much it usefully amplifies the recieved signals...
you can pump out 50 watts in one direction, but your laptop is still
flea powered. Only so much gain before it's all noise....
