Much like cars people have thier likes and dislikes with regards to brand
names. I've used Linksys units with no problems but not for industrial
applications. For that I usually move up to a "real" Cisco unit. Yes I
know Cisco bought Linksys but the two are still really different product
lines when it comes to industrial capacity.
One idea would be to check Ebay or Amazon and see if your existing router
model is available new or used. Having an identical model router and power
module can make troubleshooting and repairs go much faster. I would also
pre-program the backup router to match the existing configuration.
One thing to consider is placing the replacement unit online, including it's
own power module, after configuring it so you can confirm it's as reliable
as the existing unit.
