Wonder if the problem was a RFI one like many have had with cell phones
lately or kitchen appliances generating abnormal noise. If it happens
again and you use a Cell be sure to power it off and see if things go back
to normal. Plugging the router into an outlet that is on a different
breaker might help identify if it's a dirty power input from something else.
As one person recently discovered, his laptop would crash when the
refrigerator went into defrost due to static feeding back from the
refrigerator to the laptop's AC input.
