Bet you a dollar it's Broadcom (i.e., no, and unlikely in the
foreseeable future).

Where I'm at, there seems to be NO 802.11g (or even b)
PCI cards that are supported right now.

Most of the cards that are on the compatability list will
have a different chipset in the product than the one indicated.
Most of the Prism2/Intersil cards are something else now.
Supposedly TI cards have an experimental driver, so that
might help a little bit. Basically, people in the wireless LAN
industry seem to regard the non-windows sector of the market
to be an annoyance that they tolerate, not something worthy
of support.

When I'm elected, I shall make it a Racketeering offense to
produce a consumer product and withhold technical specifications.

We don't let food products on the shelf without the ingredients
labelled, do we? You should be able to get specs on anything,
as easily as getting a MSDS for a chemical product. And it should
be a serious crime if the manufacturer refuses to provide you with
this. (Mess up the MSDS thing with intent, and suits leave their
office in handcuffs, same for food labelling.)

Can you tell I'm a little upset about my linksys card?

3Com 3CRDW696. Works fine with both linux-wlan-ng and kernel drivers (2.4.21).

Pretty much the most expensive card out there. Fair enough.
Now, how can I be sure that the make and model of card that
works for you, still has the same chipset when I purchase mine?
